DJ PRACTICE WITH TOBIAS

In this workshop, he offers an insight into the world of DJing and introduces the fundamental tasks and techniques involved.

Following a brief theoretical overview, the focus shifts decisively to hands-on practice: participants have the opportunity to get behind the decks, select music, and mix their first transitions. The goal of the workshop is not to turn participants into perfect DJs in just a few hours; rather, it aims to spark curiosity, foster a feel for music, rhythm, and track selection, and deepen the understanding of the creative work that goes into a DJ set.

Although the focus is on house and techno, the fundamentals taught can be applied to virtually any musical genre.

This workshop is designed for anyone who wants to experience music from a DJ’s perspective and try it out for themselves.

TOBIAS KOCH

Tobias has been active as a DJ for nearly 30 years. His musical roots lie in electronic music, particularly the house and techno genres. Over the years, he has witnessed the evolution of DJing from vinyl to digital.
