TELLING MOVING STORIES IN MOVING PICTURES

VIDEO- AND FILM-WORKSHOP WITH STEFAN

How can I capture my surroundings on video? This workshop shows how to document events, activities, or situations while maintaining a personal touch. What kind of footage is needed to convey your personal perspective to a future audience? What types of shots are there, and how do they fit into the final product?

At the start of the workshop, we will work as a group to plan what we want to document during the Youth Culture Days weekend and how we’ll go about it. From planning and filming to editing, we will create a short but impressive film together.

We can certainly tailor the process to the group members’ interests and prior experience! Whether it’s visual storytelling, staging, or interview techniques. Bring your own ideas to the table!

Stefan Göbel first picked up his parents’ movie camera at the age of 12, immersing himself in the craft as a self-taught filmmaker. He later studied Film and Video at the St. Joost Academy of Art and Design in Breda. Performing under the name “STOI,” Stefan Göbel is also the first Lower Sorbian rapper; he has been deeply engaged with Sorbian themes since early childhood.
